Screen Shot 2016-03-20 at 2.35.43 PMGeorge Lay Signs is a family-owned Wichita based signs company and billboard business.  The company was started in 1955 when George Lay quit his job designing neon signs for Wichita’s leading sign tompany to start his own sign painting business.  During the 1950’s and 1960’s Lay expanded his business to inclue highway billboards across Kansas.   owns billboards leading into dozens of central and eastern Kansas towns.

The company is run by John Lay, son of the founder.  John worked in the sign shop during summers and joined the business after graduation from University of Kansas in 1979.   He became President in 1991 when George died.

The company has twenty-one 14′ by 48′ billboards and twelve smaller billboards in Witchita.

In April 2015 the company bought a Yesco sign and lighting service franchise.
