In a poll last week 44% of Billboard Insider readers said they sometimes replace storm damaged vinyls for free and sometimes not depending on the relationship. A billboard executive in an area subject to storms explains why:
If we have a couple of signs blow out I will just replace them. I believe if we had a significant storm that destroyed a lot of vinyls I would ask the customers to help with the cost. As always, it depends on the relationship but a larger scale loss I think most customers would understand us asking for them to help us cover some of the cost for replacement. It’s really a case by case basis and like you guys said depends how you have it worded in the contract.
