WFMZ reports that Catalyst Outdoor has proposed to construct a monument sign in Quakertown which would incorporate a digital billboard. The sign would be 40 feet by 23 feet. Quakertown is appointing a committee to look at the proposal.
In March 2016 Catalyst proposed a digital monument sign to the Upper Dublin Pennsylvania school board.
Catalyst has a business model of providing communities a monument sign with an embedded LED on which Catalyst provides advertising. We’ve added a couple examples of Catalyst’s monument digital signs to this page.
Insider’s take: Not sure why more billboard companies don’t take this approach. Perhaps a nice monument sign costs too much.
