Is inflation picking up?

• Steel Prices are up 75% over the past 12 months.  Here’s some narrative from a steel market newsletter:”…due to a variety of factors, the North American steel mills are operating the available assets at a lower rate than previous years. If that is coupled with a year-over-year reduction in imports of over 20%, the apparent steel supply to consumers has been reduced considerably, resulting in pricing inflation.”  Fabricators are increasing billboard structure costs.
• Insider hears some LED component costs are increasing.
• This week Insider read an email from a vinyl printer seeking a 7% price increase.  The email cited increases from vendors as the reason for the price increase.
