Media Choice owns and operates over 1000 static and digital faces in Central, South and East Texas,  as well as faces in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and the Chicago DMA. The company was started in 1997 and is headquartered in Austin.  Curtis Ford is the firm’s CEO, and Katheryn Huynh (one of Billboard Insider’s Top Women Out of Home Executives) is its Corporate Controller.  In July 2018, Media Choice acquired X-Mark Outdoor.  X-Mark owned 100 billboard faces in Texas and Chicago.  Here are the highlights from last year’s interview.

How did you get into the out of home advertising business?

We started in the out of home advertising business when we started placing signage in shopping malls! We grew from there.

How has the integration of the X-Mark assets gone?

Its been interesting! It’s had its challenges but its definitely taught us how to navigate an acquisition with respect and tact!

Tell us about your plant.

We don’t have a plant. We use contractors for both our vinyl printings and installations.

Whose digital signs do you use and what have you learned?

We use Watchfire and Daktronics signs. We’ve definitely learned that a friendly voice on the other line is always the avenue to problem solve effectively!

Are you using any third party vendors like Blip or Adquick or Vistar or Adomni to sell space on your signs?  What have been the results.

We have been using Blip for some time. We enjoy the platform and the experience we’ve had with them. We hope to continue that great relationship!
