Statler Billboards is pleased to announce the sale of its 62 out of home advertising faces in the Pittsburgh, PA DMA to McWhorter Media Group. Williamson & Associates acted as exclusive broker and advisor to the seller.
Statler Billboards is a local family-owned business originally started in 1990. Their coverage in Pennsylvania consists heavily of the growing Pittsburgh suburb markets. Every location has been carefully selected with great attention to the commercial vibrancy of the area and to ensure excellent visibility. With Statler’s long term ground leases, loyal customers, and an abundance of digital conversion opportunities, McWhorter Media Group is well-positioned to re-enter the OOH space with this exceptional acquisition- the first for the newly formed company.
Kevin Dail, President of Statler Billboards, will remain onboard to facilitate continued growth and success. “I’m extremely excited to continue to move forward with the entire team at McWhorter Media Group. This transaction presents a true win-win for both parties and I’m very appreciative to all involved. Marty and Amber at Williamson & Associates were wonderful to work with and I greatly valued their professionalism and expertise.”
Josh McWhorter, CEO of McWhorter Media Group says “after selling Horton and going through due diligence on several asset classes, I realized how much appreciation I had for OOH. Not only appreciation for OOH as an investment, personally, but appreciation for how much our whole team enjoys the business. Kevin was great to work with during the entire process & we’re excited about our partnership moving forward. I’m also very appreciative to Deanna Berry, on our side, for overseeing the entire process.” Deanna Berry is COO at McWhorter Media Group and adds “I’m beyond excited to be re-entering the OOH space, and as we launch this new venture, I look forward to marrying Kevin’s expertise with the operational successes that we were able to achieve with Horton”
“We were very pleased to assist Kevin Dail with the sale of Statler Billboards. I’ve known Kevin since becoming a broker a little over 5 years ago and we have discussed the possible sale of his business many times. Timing is everything, and when Josh reached out to let us know that he wanted to get back into the space, we immediately thought about Statler as a strong potential fit checking off all the boxes. With Kevin staying on to continue to grow the business, supported by Josh and Deanna, it’s a strong formula for success.” – Marty Williamson, President and CEO of Williamson & Associates.
