Young Electric Sign Company (Yesco) – started by immigrant Tom Young in 1920 with borrowed $300 – is celebrating its centennial with accolades from around the country.

“In many ways, the story of YESCO is the story of America: innovation, invention, a restlessness to move beyond the status quo, and commitment to others,” said US Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL).

Rubio’s youth football team was sponsored by YESCO when he grew up in Las Vegas. Senator Rubio thanked YESCO in a recent tribute published in the Congressional Record.

YESCO’s centennial dinner program is scheduled February 20 in Salt Lake City, where the company is based. Click here to learn more about YESCO’s 100-year history.

Public Service

When the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) asked the out of home media industry to display AMBER Alerts, YESCO designed software that sends the Alerts to digital billboards.  Since 2008, more than 2,000 AMBER Alerts have been transmitted to digital billboards.

Longevity

A fourth generation of the Young family is poised to lead the company into its next century.

Industry Involvement

YESCO is active in the on-premise (ISA) and off-premise sign industries (OAAA and IBO). Pat O’Donnell, president of YESCO Outdoor Media, is immediate past chair of OAAA’s Legislative Committee.
