Why You Need a Mobile-optimized OOH Website

Billboard Insider looks at a lot of out of home websites and we are amazed how many out of home companies still haven’t mobile optimized their websites.  The sites look fine on a desktop but are impossible to read or navigate on a phone.  If your site isn’t mobile optimized you are making it hard for customers to find you.

Duane Fredrickson, the General Manager at Circle City Outdoor General Manager received a phone call from a prospect who wanted to advertise on a Circle City Outdoor billboard.   As Duane wound up the conversation, the prospect said

“…By the way, I got to let you know I love your website.  I’m on my phone all the time and yours makes it super easy to go to a location and tab on it and all the information pops up…I’ve looked at the other sites too and by far yours is the easiest to operate with my cell phone.”

We asked out of home website and marketing expert John James of Signbird what he thinks and he said this:

“A mobile optimized site for your out-of-home company is both advantageous and practical! One half of US website traffic comes from mobile. Think of your local advertiser, who drives by your billboard location every day. Odds are, after looking at your location in real-time, they will pull over and google your billboard company name on their phone while it’s fresh on their mind. This is a prime opportunity for your website (a.k.a, your digital salesperson) to be ready to impress and meet advertisers where they are doing a majority of their online searches.”
