The board of the town of Wallkill, New York will adopt a local law to regulate the number and location of billboards in town according to MidHudsonNews.com.  Wallkill is in Orange County, New York.  The proposed billboard law includes the following
- Limits new static and digital billboards to parts of New York state route 17 and I-84.
- New digital billboards must be 2,500 feet from any other digital billboard.
- Digital billboards must provide “a reasonable percentage of time” to community use such as amber alerts, construction alerts, and town announcements.
- Non-conforming billboards on vacant land must be removed when the land is developed.
- Non-conforming boards may not be replaced or expanded.
