Skydragon Designs is a recent advertiser on Billboard Insider and we reached out to CEO Leslie Morris to learn more about the company.

Leslie, when and why did you start Skydragon Designs?

I began my design career in 1991, initially working as a freelance graphic designer. During that time, I interned at an upscale magazine in Athens, GA, where I gained valuable experience creating ads and layouts. From there, I worked with several newspapers and magazines before interviewing with an Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising company—an opportunity that changed the direction of my career.

While at that company, I witnessed the introduction and rapid rise of digital billboards, and I was instantly captivated. I immersed myself in learning the software, often working closely with manufacturers who generously shared their knowledge. When the company eventually sold its inventory, I decided to branch out on my own. In 2006, I was managing 21 billboard faces. Today, Skydragon Designs manages content and creative for over 400 digital, static, and transit OOH displays, offering a full range of digital, static, and motion design services.

We are also proud members of IBO (Independent Billboard Operators) and OAAA (Out Of Home Advertising Association of America).

What services does Skydragon Designs provide?

1. Graphic Design

• Our team manages daily scheduling updates for account executives and advertisers, ensuring fresh content is always running on contracted spots.
• We provide reporting services for media clients (such as state lotteries), maintaining spreadsheets, POP trackers, and ensuring all performance data is current and accurate.

• New Client Onboarding: If you’ve recently purchased a digital billboard, we offer a smooth onboarding experience. We begin with a strategic planning meeting, transfer all your inventory, ads, and contracts into the appropriate systems, and prepare everything so you’re ready to take the wheel with confidence.

3. Invoicing & Billing Support for Small Operators

• Due to growing demand, we now assist smaller OOH companies with advertiser invoicing.
• We offer contract input, invoice generation (e.g., via QuickBooks), and even collections and reporting support.
• Our services are adaptable and can integrate with a company’s existing systems—we’re happy to create a customized plan based on their current workflow.

I understand you now offer billing services for small business operators. Can you share more details?

Absolutely. At Skydragon, we understand that small business operators often juggle many responsibilities. Our billing services are designed to lighten that load. We can manage advertiser invoicing, enter contracts, generate and send invoices (using platforms like QuickBooks), and even assist with payment collections and financial reporting.
