Toyota Dealership uses Smartphone App to Program Ads on Digital Billboards

Dan Porter Motors, Dickinson, ND, in June of 2020 became the first automotive dealership in the U.S. to control their inventory on outdoor digital billboards, in real-time with the Lucit Layout smartphone app.

“Our objective was to develop an application to publish inventory, to digital billboards, with a single click”, says Gina Gordon, CEO of Lucit. “We delivered on that goal with the launch of Lucit Layout”

The latest from Lucit : “Layout” is an inventory feed management application with connectors to various 3rd party consumers of digital inventory. With our newest integration using our custom Lucit Drive billboard software, along with billboards from Dakota Outdoor powered by Apparatix, the dealership is able to completely control the billboard images that run, in real-time, from their phone, tablet or desktop computer.

“Amazing, easy and Simple” says Rob Wilkinson, GM of Dan Porter Motors. “You guys knocked it out of the park”

Layout Real Time Billboards

The essential functionality of the application takes a real-time feed of information from the Dealer’s Inventory Management System, generates creatives automatically, and places selected inventory on the board. The system automates processes that used to take days, down to just minutes.

“Our system also receives ping-backs from the digital boards” says Lucit CTO Eric Kubischta, “and we then provide the user real-time feedback on their OOH campaigns and play statistics” With these kinds of real-time stats, any user can now see their digital boards, in real-time, without having to be in front of the board itself, or wait for reports from their operator. The stats are built directly into the application.
