Things Stay Normal in Illinois

Screen Shot 2016-04-20 at 6.13.22 AMThe Normal, IL town council voted to bypass a 1999 agreement with a developer and allow two billboards to stay in place in the northeast part of the town.  WJBC reports the original agreement had provided for one of the signs to be removed after 5 years.

An amendment passed on a 4-3 vote allows the signs to stay in place and most likely will be revisited in another 5 years. One councilman commented that the signs have been in place for 16 years and there have not been any issues so far. Another indicated that they are a valuable help to the citizens of the town.
