Coastalpoint reports that the Sussex County Planning commissions has recommended changes to a proposed sign ordinance. The Commissioners voted 3-0 to recommend the following changed to a proposed sign ordinance:
- The elimination of a prohibition against animation except for continuous scrolling, live action, streaming video or flashing messages.
- The ability to erect an off-premises sign within 50 feet of an on-premises sign.
- The ability to build a V-sign.
- The ability for non-conforming signs go be rebuilt within 12 months if destroyed by nature. The proposed ordinance prohibited a rebuild.
The Sussex County council will discuss the recommendations on October 4.
