SignBird Tuesday Tip: What Makes a Good Video of Your Billboard?

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video is worth a million. Taking videos of your inventory is the easiest way to showcase just how great your inventory actually is. Videos show everything an advertiser would need to know: what the traffic looks like, what the board looks like, popular landmarks, and more. Getting the video right is very important, so how do you get the perfect video?

Be sure to capture appealing angles. Your board could be the greatest board of all time, but poor video can easily make it seem of the lowest quality. Getting the right angles, at the right time, can even make a mediocre board seem legendary. Get multiple angles, and get them at the right time for traffic and to combat where the sun is at.

Point out key information. Raw video of your board can sell how awesome it is, but adding visual queues in post editing can make it easy to digest everything being shown. Add the traffic count, the size of the board, a map of nearby popular destinations. Adding this in post editing makes all the visual information easier to understand, making your board that much more appealing.

And be sure to include what is necessary, but only what’s necessary. Advertisers want to quickly understand the board, so leaving out critical information could be a costly mistake ausing them to pass over your board simply because information was not presented. But at the same time, you do not want to include too much information. Including only what is necessary, but everything that is necessary is a balance to make your video as high quality as it can be.
