Last Monday the San Diego City Council unanimously approved legislation restricting the location of marijuana ads. The law is aimed at restricting cannabis advertising within 1000 feet of schools playground, day care centers youth centers and public parks.
The new law will make 381 or 60% of the billboards in San Diego off limits to cannabis advertising. You can see a map of eligible and ineligible billboard locations here.
Insider’s take. Excess is not your friend. Show some restraint as to where and when you run cannabis ads or the government will apply the restraint for you.

Last Time I was in San Diego almost every sign there had a cannabis company. Excess is not your friend. Shame the sign companies weren’t able to be instrumental in applying the regulation and they would have saved a lot of headache in the long run
