Chris Rothfelder and I are really looking forward to the IBO Fall Conference on September 21 – 23 in Charlotte, NC! Richard Rothfelder extends his regards as well – he will sadly not be joining us in Charlotte as he will be spending the end of the week in his hometown, Wichita, Kansas, for his 50th high school reunion.

Chris and I are presenting during the Thursday morning session on the topic of

Permit Disputes: Why One Size Doesn’t Fit All When You’re Dealing with the Government.

We will talk about cases in which we have been involved and our advice to clients in those cases:

  • where the government has sued to cancel a sign company’s permit
  • when the government breaches its contract with the sign company
  • can you rely on the word of government employees
  • what to do when the government tries to enforce unenforceable laws, and
  • how to work productively with the government
Chris Rothfelder

Richard, Chris, and I have been part of previous IBO conferences including last Spring in Kansas City on Billboard Acquisition Transactions, Covenants Not to Compete, and the Reagan vs City of Austin case, and last year in Pittsburg where Chris spoke as part of a panel on billboard acquisition transactions (Billboard Insider – September 30, 2021 edition). Richard is also a frequent contributor to Billboard Insider (https://billboardinsider.com/?s=rothfelder).

Once again, Becky Smith, Chris Cowlbeck, and the team at IBO have done a fantastic job of preparing a fun and informative conference.

We look forward to seeing you and to answering any questions you might have. See you in Charlotte!
