Rick Del Mastro RIP

City Outdoor’s CEO Rick Del Mastro has died from complications caused by coronavirus.  Del Mastro was a pioneer in transit advertising, Times Square displays and street level formats.  His company City Outdoor  has offices in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.

Del Mastro entered the out of home business in 1989 with Gannett and eventually became Gannett’s President and CEO.  At that time Gannett was the largest out of home company in North America.

Del Mastro was a member of the OAAA Board of Directors.  He was inducted into the OAAA Hall of Fame in 2019.

In addition to his out of home activities Del Mastro was an Executive Board Member of Life’s WORC, a nonprofit which assists individuals with development disabilities including autism.  Del Mastro is survived by his wife Cynthia and two daughters Jennifer Del Mastro and Dawn Chruma.
