Reader Feedback on Gifts for Out of Home Clients

Grey Vick, Owner, Grey Outdoor

We received several comments on last Friday’s gifts for out of home clients post

Grey Outdoor owner Grey Vick says restaurant or coffee cards are good.

Every year we send gift cards to clients around Christmas from other local customers businesses to support them just like your story here. We sent some out from a local restaurant & brewery. We had two customers sent them back and said they don’t drink! Whoops I tried to explain that you don’t have to drink and there is a sit down restaurant. anyways those customers are both still on board but they get the coffee shop cards the past few years

Kevin Gephart, OOHsalesfaster.com, says donate to a client’s favorite charity.

Because most business decision makers don’t need more “stuff’, and because the goal of a client gift should be to create an emotional linkage between you and the client, the best client gift I have used is a donation to their favorite charity (usually can be found on their website or hints of it in their Lancinin profile, otherwise just a high profile charity in their home market). It can be very powerful and the memory long lasting.

An out of home executive likes to send Thanksgiving gifts.

I think that Christmas gifts for clients lose their impact because everyone is giving gifts.  We send a gift to key clients at Thanksgiving along with a note telling them how thankful we are for the chance to do business.
