Rate This Ad allows a billboard designer to rate a random billboard ad using the following scale: 1 (not good), 2 (below average), 3 (average), 4 (very good), 5 (great). Then the designer talks about what they may have done differently for outdoor advertising. This week’s rating is provided by Wes Frick of BillboardDesign.com Billboard Insider uses and endorses Frick’s services.
Impact
Rating: 4 (Very Good)
This one has gone pretty viral on LinkedIn, and it’s a pretty good execution overall.
- They spelled ChatGPT wrong. It’s one word.
- Impact selected a pretty good location to make an impact. It’s quite a large building, and it’s a great placement for where the message actually is.
- I’d say the billboard is pretty good, considering that it’s gone viral on each platform.
- This ad is very effective, modern, and relevant to the times.
- Some people are nervous about AI replacing jobs, and it kind of gives a sense of safety, (for now).

I didn’t understand the billboard at all, but I’m old and not very hip.
For me, it was a solid -1.
You have to know what ChatGPT is to understand this. I didn’t, so I learned something new. But if I was just driving by, I would have been confused. Here’s a good article about it: https://www.zdnet.com/article/what-is-chatgpt-and-why-does-it-matter-heres-everything-you-need-to-know/
