Rate This Ad by Greg Callaham

Rate This Ad allows a billboard designer to rate a random piece of billboard artwork using the following scale: 1 (not good), 2 (below average), 3 (average), 4 (very good), 5 (great). Then the designer talks about what they may have done differently for outdoor advertising. This week’s rating is provided by Greg Callaham www.gregcallaham.com) who has over 30 years of experience in outdoor advertising design. Insider uses and endorses Callaham’s services.

Hardees

Rating: 3 (average)

  • Large headline, big logo, and beautiful hero shot. That’s a recipe for good outdoor advertising.
  • The pricing info is a bit small, but the target audience still get the gist.
  • The directional info in the color bar across the bottom has good contrast with the black text on a yellow background, but, unfortunately, the text is too thin to really communicate the info effectively to viewers on the interstate, especially in all caps.
  • The recipe was there for something very good, but the finished product was only average. This ad earns a 3.
