Good news and bad news for OUTFRONT and the transit ad providers in the fourth quarter 2023 transit ridership figures.  The good news is that transit passenger trips increased by 12% in the fourth quarter of 2023 and transit trips were up 16% for the full year 2023 according to the APTA 2023 Q4 Ridership Report.  The bad news is that ridership is still 28% below pre-covid.  Now you can understand why OUTFRONT took $535 million in impairment charges against the value of its transit business in 2023.  Here’s the APTA total transit ridership data for the past 10 years.
