Insider spotted a couple cases of public agencies using billboards to get their message out.
Valley Central reports that a Houston school district has bought Lamar billboards along Expressway 83 advertising a $52,000 starting salary to recruit new teachers.
Waupacanow reports that the town of Clintonville, Wisconsin has rented a couple of Jones Outdoor billboards on Highway 22/45 just south of Clintonville and Highway 45 south of the Highway 45/15 intersection near New Longon to promote Clintonville tourist attractions. The Clintonville billboards have been funded with money from a collection of room tax on overnight stays at city hotels.
Insider’s take: Don’t overlook government entities as clients. It’s good publicity and good money.
