Pay Ratios for Lamar, OUTFRONT and Clear Channel Outdoor

Dodd-Frank requires public companies to disclose the pay ratio (e.g. the CEO’s total compensation compared to the median annual total compensation for all company employees).  Billboard Insider has computed the pay ratios for Lamar, OUTFRONT and Clear Channel Outdoor pulled from each company’s Schedule 14A.

  • Lamar had the lowest pay ratio of the public out of home companies.  Lamar’s Sean Reilly earned 91 times the average median employee salary at Lamar in 2021.  Jeremy Male made 125 times the average median employee salary at OUTFRONT.  William Eccleshare made 123 times the annual median salary at Clear Channel.
  • The median employee salary is lowest at Clear Channel Outdoor.  This surprising to Billboard Insider given the company’s low margins.  It’s probably due to low wage overseas employees.
  • The US out of home companies pay ratios are better than the average pay ratio for a Standard and Poors 500 public company.  The average pay ratio for the three public US out of home companies was 113 versus an average pay ratio of 299 for the Standard and Poors 500.

  1. I wonder what the 2020 median for the S&P 500 was.
