Pattison Outdoor Awarded Contract for Richmond, BC Transit Shelter and Bench Advertising

Canada’s largest Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising company and a leader in transit advertising media sales, today announced a new contract with the City of Richmond for its Transit Shelter (TSA) and Bus Bench Advertising inventory. With an estimated population of nearly 214,000 and the fourth largest in the Province, the City of Richmond is a culturally diverse and geographically unique community located on Canada’s dynamic West Coast, just 20 minutes from Downtown Vancouver and 25 minutes from the United States border. Richmond is also the location of Vancouver International Airport.

The long-term agreement illustrates PATTISON Outdoor’s commitment to this market, while providing advertisers incredible potential for business opportunities. The contract includes the media sales management for 200 TSAs (400 advertising faces) and 600 bus benches (300 advertising faces).

“This contract is a reflection of the strength of PATTISON’s relationship with the City over the past 36 years, and our commitment to providing enhanced product offerings and a quality experience with unparalleled customer service,” said Steve McGregor, Vice President and General Manager, Pacific Region of PATTISON Outdoor Advertising. “We are delighted to continue the management of these advertising opportunities in Richmond, and look forward to providing advertisers a varied audience, exclusivity and incredible coverage with an effective form of advertising that reaches drivers and passengers.”

“The City’s new contract with PATTISON Outdoor ensures provision of convenient, comfortable and attractive street furniture for Richmond’s transit users and pedestrians,” said Victor Wei, Director of Transportation. “It helps realize the City’s objective of making transit truly a viable alternative for travel by quadrupling the number of bus shelters, as well as significantly increasing the number of benches to result in long-term community and public benefits.”

A recent venue City for the 2010 Winter Games with the legacy of the Olympic Oval, the City of Richmond has been experiencing growth and change with remarkable speed, transforming from a rural, local community to an international city with a balance of vibrant urban and suburban lifestyles.
