Outfront expands transit advertising in DC, LA and Long Beach.

Outfront Media is doubling down on its investment in transit, making two big announcements this month.

  • screen-shot-2016-09-15-at-3-24-29-pmIn D.C., MD and VA, Outfront installed 31 state of the art 65 inch digital liveboards (ON Smart) in 14 new Metrorail stations to expand on its advertising partnership with Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA).   This should be a win-win project as Outfront generates additional revenue and the DC Transit Authority raises much needed cash to fund operations without having any capital outlay.  You can read the Outfront DC press release here.  The new screens caught the Washington Post’s eye.  It ran an article called “Metro needs money.  These new digital advetisements might help.”
  • Outfront has assumed the advertising rights for the 591 transit buses operated by the City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) and Long Beach Transit (LBT).   Outfront provides similar services on more than 1,800 buses operated by the LA Metropolitan Transportation Authority and more than 800 buses operated by the Orange County Transit Authority.  You can read the Outfront LA press release here.
