Outdoor Companies Threaten to Sue Oceanside

The San Diego Union reports that Lamar Advertising and BGT Media are threatening to sue Oceanside for damages after the city reversed a decision to permit digital signs on city owned land near freeways.  Lamar is seeking $250,000 in expenses.  BGT Media is seeking $475,000 in expenses plus $5.2 million in damages.  The city’s mayor  has said that it will cost the city “a great deal of money in litigation costs.”
