Oklahoma Files Lawsuit To Remove Trailer Billboard

Billboard Insider Regulations LogoThe Muskogee Phoenix reports that the Oklahoma Department of Transportation is asking for a court order to remove a vinyl billboard which is on a truck trailer parked at north 11th street and Three Rivers Plaza.  The sign is owned by Arcon Inc.   The State has asked Arcon to either get a permit or to remove the sign.  Arcon argues that the trailer is moveable and not permanent and therefore is not a sign.

Insiders take:  Don’t think Arcon will win the court fight.  Many states and municipalities have been broadening their sign codes to cover mobile billboards.
