Ocean Outdoor has restructured its senior leadership team as the company looks to move into a new growth phase focused on improving performance across the Group.
UK CEO Phil Hall has been given additional duties and is now Group chief commercial officer.
Current Group head of finance Billy Byam-Cook has been named Group chief financial officer, and will now work with Hall to oversee commercial contracts and cross-border agency relationships.
Meanwhile, UK chief revenue officer Nick Shaw has been promoted to UK chief commercial officer.
Group chief marketing officer Richard Malton and head of brand and events Helen Haines will also both be taking on wider roles. They have been appointed Group chief marketing and strategy officer, and director of strategic marketing, respectively.
The structural changes are effective beginning in the new year. Ocean last restructured its leadership team in early 2023 with the goal of streamlining its structure at the Group level.
The new appointments come just months after the company announced Stephen Joseph, its then chief operating officer and chief financial officer, would succeed long-time CEO Tim Bleakley at the top job, effective 1 January 2025.
Bleakley himself will move into a new role as chairman of the board of directors as part of “a long-planned” succession process.
“Our new senior leadership team brings together some of the best experience and expertise in the business, continuing our strategy to be the first choice DOOH (digital out-of-home) advertising business for clients, agencies and landlord partners,” said Joseph.
The company currently operates in seven countries and oversees a staff of 300.
With Bleakley at the helm the past 15 years, Ocean made three UK acquisitions, four acquisitions in the Nordics and Netherlands, and expanded into Northern Europe. In January, it launched business in the German market.
This year, Ocean has invested significantly in its brand experience and innovation team Ocean Labs, led by Catherine Morgan, as well as its in-house creative production and consultancy department Ocean Studios, led by David Tait.
Joseph also signaled further interest in continued growth through acquisitions.
He continued: “As we embark on a new period of organic and M&A growth, the team will focus and align best practices across our core disciplines of sales, marketing, asset development and technological innovation, plotting our new and exciting journey together for 2025 and beyond.”
