Insider heard that the OAAA had recently expanded their Independent Media Company Advisory Group. We were pleased to learn from Mike Hershey at OAAA that Diana Stevenson, CEO of Grace Outdoor, will be leading the group and the initiative.
We reached out to both Mike and Diana to learn more about the group and the initiative.
Mike, what is the goal of the OAAA advisory group?
OAAA has always benefited from strong Board and committee representation by independent billboard companies. The advisory group is a way to ensure that our OAAA programs continue to reach and engage this important segment of our membership.
Diana , can you tell us why you feel this advisory group is important within the OAAA?
I had the pleasure of previously participating and now am honored to chair the group. Smaller, independent OOH companies face unique challenges. We can learn from each other and benefit from shared experiences. We are thankful to the OAAA for recognizing our contributions and our unique position in the industry.
Mike, why was now the appropriate time to expand the group?
Diana mentioned challenges. There are always legal, legislative, and regulatory developments, along with sales and marketing issues, and we want to make sure our membership remains fully informed. Expanding the group provides OAAA a broader level of input and guidance.
Diana , any projects in particular where you see the groups immediate focus?
We want to help in planning for the 2024 OOH Media Conference. We appreciate having a voice to offer feedback on programming particularly relevant to independent companies and to build upon what was provided this year in Nashville.
