Last week Norris Outdoor sold 52 billboards to OK Outdoor. Billboard Insider talked with Norris Outdoor owner Jerod Norris about the sale and where he’d like to continue to expand.
Jerod, you just sold 52 faces?
Yes, 52 faces. We worked hard on those assets. We wanted them to go to a reputable company with standards similar to ours, OK Outdoor was just that. Josh Snyder has built his company on quality and professionalism, we felt he represented the same level of service and respect for relationships. Those assets and advertisers will be in good hands. This was the easiest, cleanest transaction we’ve ever done.
Max Drachman was the broker?
Yes. We appreciated the help of Max Drachman. He was top tier representation for our company.
You still have billboards?
The sale leaves us with about 148 faces in Southeast Kansas, with one face in Missouri. We’re going to focus on our Kansas assets and continue to grow this market. So nothing changes on that end, we still have plenty of inventory here and will continue looking for more locations. We’re getting ready to build two more double stack back-to-backs – hopefully within the month.
You take a different approach to digital billboards.
We manufacture our own and also sell on-premise digital signs to businesses – banks, schools, churches, out of home – whatever. We enjoy it and it is slightly cheaper when it comes to servicing and maintaining our own digital billboards.
