Yesterday New South Outdoor announced the sale of 39 digital faces and 117 static faces to Mashburn Outdoor. Billboard Insider talked with New South’s founder and CEO Neil Bell.

Tell us about the sale?
I have been building these signs I think since since COVID. I started in March of 2020. I sold off 22 digitals and 64 statics to Trailhead about two years ago but the rest of these I’ve built – I think we have averaged 16-18 signs per year for the last five years. 39 digitals and 117 statics.
You sold to Mashburn?
That’s correct. Mashburn had already been managing 2/3 of my inventory so this was an easy fit. They knew what they could do and they knew the numbers from the inside. They didn’t have to take my word for it. They feel like there’s some good upside. It was a good match.
Who brokered the deal?
Max Drachman worked on the deal. He’s so good at it. There’s so many little details in selling 76 structures. There’s a million negotiation points. Max is exceptionally good at navigating it.
Neil what’s next for you?
I still have signs in east Alabama and I just put some up in North Carolina and Tennessee but, you know, I don’t think that I’m going to build and and hold as many as this again. I think I will develop and sell as I go. I also own Signdash. I’d like to put a little more energy into that.
