Vehicle miles travelled declined by 0.8% in January 2024 to 247.1 billion miles according to the FHWA January 2024 Travel Trends.  Billboard Insider thinks heavy January snowstorms had something to do with this because most of the decline was concentrated in the snowbound north-central and south-central states.  On a trailing twelve month basis, however, miles travelled rose 1.6% for the 12 months ended January 2024 versus the 12 months ended January 2023.  Here’s the data.
