Insider ran into articles in The Balance and on Hubspot which suggest the following:
(1) Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday are the best days to prospect. Monday, everyone is organizing for the week. Thursday everyone is racing to finish projects due on Friday.
(2) The best time to call if you wish to reach a prospect is 8-9 am or 4-5 pm. Midmorning and midafternoon are the worst times to reach someone.
Insider asked out of home sales expert Andrea Messimer for her thoughts on the best and worst times to prospect and here are her thoughts:
I agree with the article that Tuesday is the most productive day for a straight cold call or prospecting, emailing or phone call.
When I am in a great mood due to the fact I’ve landed a sale or an appointment I ride that high and keep going. Positivity is infectious and there’s no set date or time for when that is going to happen-
Think outside the oldschool prospecting method. I hosted a happy hour on a Thursday evening and invited 45 solid prospects. 25 showed up. That was a very productive evening. And something people were looking forward to.
So don’t set limits to days or time of day- 🙂 .
