Media Resources Steve Gallow Inducted into the OAAA Hall of Fame

Boston, MA – May 7, 2025 – Media Resources and The Out of Home Advertising Association of America (OAAA) proudly announces the induction of Steve Gallow into the prestigious OAAA Hall of Fame, which was announced during the 2025 OAAA OOH Media Conference Media Con25 event held on May 6, 2025. Themed “THE POWER OF PRESENCE,” this year’s conference celebrated innovation and excellence within the out of home out-of-home (OOH) advertising industry, with Gallow being spotlighted for his extensive contributions and enduring legacy.

Established in 1991, the OAAA Hall of Fame honors visionary leaders who have made significant contributions to the OOH advertising industry. The awards recognize individuals whose careers are marked by outstanding achievements and dedication, and Gallow stands out as a prime example of such excellence. Alongside receiving the Hall of Fame Award, past recipients of the Distinguished Achievement Award of Excellence and Marketing Award of Merit are also honored members.

Throughout his illustrious career, Gallow has transformed the out of home industry in profound ways. Starting in the print department at Gannett’s Canadian operation in the late 1970s, he quickly rose through the ranks to become the print production manager. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found GHQ, one of the world’s first digital printing operations, which accelerated the transition from hand-painting to digital printing. Gallow’s innovations leveraged advanced technology, enabling companies to expand their global reach.

After selling GHQ with his partners to Prismaflex, Gallow continued his journey in the OOH landscape, partnering with Jorg Cieslok to form Cieslok Media and partnered with several billboard companies across Canada. Since acquiring Media Resources in 2005 with the existing partners, he has helped transform the company into a leading manufacturer of indoor and outdoor digital billboards, pioneering innovations such as VISIONiQ, eQVISION, and TruVIEW.

Jeff Rushton, President & CEO of Media Resources, praised Gallow’s contributions to the company and the industry: “Steve is an exemplary leader who has inspired our team and built a wonderful culture over the years. His passion, leadership, and integrity have created a success story that resonates throughout the industry. Personally, Steve has been my best friend for many years, and it’s an honor to witness his recognition in the OAAA Hall of Fame.”

Gallow’s leadership qualities shine as he consistently challenges his team while ensuring every voice is heard, from front-line employees to senior executives. His passion for the industry and dedication to fostering innovation has made a lasting impact.

“A pioneer in technology and engineering, Gallow led the charge from hand-painted signs to digital billboards, helping revolutionize the future of out of home”—a powerful reflection of his legacy, as noted in the official OAAA Hall of Fame announcement. The OAAA adds, “Steve Gallow is a rare individual deserving of recognition in the OAAA Hall of Fame. His lifelong contributions to the OOH industry have not only transformed the landscape but also laid a foundation for future generations of leaders. We are proud to celebrate his exceptional achievements.”

Steve Gallow’s personal qualities reflect his passion for both work and life, as he remains a dedicated family man with a renowned collection of Beatles vinyl records. His giving spirit has touched many lives, confirming that his legacy extends beyond business.

Join us in celebrating Steve Gallow’s remarkable journey and his well-deserved induction into the OAAA Hall of Fame, a testament to a life dedicated to excellence in the out-of-home advertising industry.
