After 20 years in the business, I had a call from my old boss at Clear Channel.  I worked under him and he was a mentor to me. He was a superstar in the business and he had retired after 35 years. He said he was doing some side sales as his own agency so I asked him if he wanted to work for me and his reply was, ” I would be honored “.  He didn’t know it, but when I got off the phone with him I got a little teary-eyed, not that I was sad but because I felt like I had reached a high point in my career. It was maybe a selfish thing on my part, but it was very satisfying that my old boss works for me now.   Hope this doesn’t seem corny but it’s a life achievement and one of my accomplishments.
