Lind Media is one of those creative, quality, family-owned firms which makes Insider proud to be in the out of home business. Lind operates over 1,400 billboards in 27 Ohio and Indiana counties and has been growing with the acquisition. Insider featured Lind as Company of the Day on July 5, 2016. When Insider heard that Lind was looking for six employees he decided to interview CEO John Siegenthaler and Sales Manager Jen Schmidt about the company’s culture and what it takes to succeed.
John, talk about Lind’s history and corporate culture.
Our history is one of very humble beginnings. We literally started in 1991 with about a dozen billboards and grew through a combination of acquisitions and organic growth. In 2013 we launched Lind SignSpring Group and Lind On Premise Group to distribute and provide installation services. The true key to success has been the people that drive our company. Our leadership team consists of Maura Siegenthaler, our transformative COO, who joined us in 1998 out of business school after experience at Northern Trust and Ernst & Young. Jen Schmidt joined us 6 years ago from MMT and has been instrumental in leading our sales team while providing exceptional leadership in all areas of the Company. Billy Stanley leads our SignSpring and On premise divisions after a very successful stint as our Media Manager. “Iron” Mike Wallace, Lind Operations Manager and the undisputed World’s Champion billposter, leads our Ops team by excellent example and a dedication to quality and safety.
Our culture is based on teamwork to achieve client success which, in turn, enables our team members and Company to be successful. I know of no other industry where so many hands touch the ball and no one department or individual doesn’t play a critical role in serving our advertisers.
Lind Media is a Company with unlimited opportunities. We seek and reward “intrapreneurs” and provide a remarkable atmosphere for personal and professional growth.
