Leslie Morris at SkyDragon Designs helps companies manage their digital billboards. Today we ask Leslie how she got into the out of home business, what kinds of services she provides and what it costs.
How did you get involved in out of home business
Marty Williamson hired me to do his graphic designs and I helped in the office as well. He grew his business and was thoughtful enough to not only let me grow with him but teach me the outdoor ropes. I noticed a market in the digital platform and started helping and found to love it. I still do sometimes 16-hour days and it really doesn’t feel like it. I started to with 21 faces and now we’re up to about 250 and still growing.
Are you running all these digital billboards by yourself
No, I have 4 others helping me. Helen Skaggs is my master scheduler, She does pretty much all the scheduling. Shannon Campbell is my sign “watchdog” She checks the cameras make sure boards ads are running properly, ads are correctly formatted and spots if any modules out she also runs proof of performance reports every Monday. Kaye Morris takes care of the Invoicing, and a lot of behind-the-scenes things for me. Adam Owen helps with Graphic Design.
What kinds of digital billboards can you manage?
All the big digital billboard manufacturers including Daktronics, Formetco and Watchfire. We work with all the software platforms, F360, Apparatix, Billboard Planet, Ayuda. We can connect with the online sales platforms like Blip
How much does the service cost?
The scheduling service is $75 per month per face. We also provide free promos for our customers because that also gets us business. We also design digital billboard ads for $75 per ad.
