Baton Rouge, LA – April 27, 2021 – Lamar Advertising Company (Nasdaq: LAMR), one of the largest out of home media companies in the world, today announced that the company has been awarded a contract from the City of Tucson to continue managing advertising displays for Sun Tran, the public transit system serving the city. Lamar has been managing advertising across Sun Tran’s fleet of buses and light rail streetcars for the past 8 years.
More than 15 million passenger trips are taken annually across the Sun Tran network. Its 239 buses travel more than 28,000 miles each day while 8 electric rail streetcars run along a 3.9-mile corridor linking major centers of social and economic activity. Sun Tran’s 48 routes reach the most prominent areas of the region including Downtown Tucson, Main Gate Square, 4th Avenue, The Mercado District, Pima Community College, and The University of Arizona.
Lamar will continue to manage the wide variety of Sun Tran’s traditional and signature displays along the interior and exterior of buses and bus shelters as well as the sides and interiors of railcars and platform shelters.
