Intersection Partners with Lyft to Electrify Chicago Divvy Bike Stations, Launch New Digital OOH Ad Solution

Chicago, IL – July 8, 2025Intersection, an experience-driven out-of-home media and technology company, today announced a major electrification initiative for Chicago’s Divvy bike share network in partnership with Lyft, the operator of Divvy Bike Share in Chicago. The project will bring power infrastructure to more than 100 Divvy stations citywide, enabling expanded electric bike and scooter offerings while introducing 20 new digital advertising screens in the first deployment wave.

Intersection is leveraging its proven expertise in municipal infrastructure deployment to electrify the Divvy network, addressing growing demand for sustainable transportation options. The electrification project will allow Lyft to significantly improve the availability of their ebike and escooter fleets, and nearly eliminate the need to swap batteries in the field throughout Chicago, providing residents with cleaner, more efficient mobility solutions. As part of the infrastructure upgrade, Intersection will install 65″ digital displays at electrified stations, creating premium advertising opportunities that connect brands with Chicagoans at street level through dynamic, hyper-relevant messaging.

Upon completion of the Divvy digital network, Intersection will have more than 500 digital displays across Chicago, covering every neighborhood and major transit hubs. The electrification initiative supports Chicago’s broader sustainability goals while enhancing the city’s bike share infrastructure.

“We are thrilled to partner with Lyft to help expand their offering and provide Chicagoans with better, greener, transportation offerings,” said Chris Grosso, Intersection’s CEO. “We share a common mission to enhance daily life for consumers in cities. We’re also excited to pair Divvy digital advertising with our existing Divvy and CTA assets, and provide unmatched, total-market coverage for our advertising partners.”

“This electrification partnership with Intersection represents a significant step forward in our mission to provide sustainable, accessible transportation options for all Chicagoans,” said Sean Madison, General Manager of Divvy. “By powering up our station network, we’re not just expanding our electric fleet – we’re investing in the future of urban mobility and supporting the city’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions.”

Intersection also serves as the exclusive advertising sales partner for both the Chicago Transit Authority and Pace Suburban Bus, providing advertisers across Chicagoland with rail, bus, station, and street-level media formats. With the addition of new Divvy Bike media, Intersection is able to offer advertisers expanded opportunities to connect with consumers along their total daily journey from home, to work, and everywhere in-between.

Intersection’s media network extends across the top U.S. media markets – New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Boston and San Francisco – in addition to other major regions such as Austin, Charlotte, New Jersey, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Portland and more. In all, Intersection’s network reaches more than 50 million people monthly through more than 400,000 digital and static assets nationwide.
