Insider’s Light-Hearted Guide to the Lamar, OUTFRONT and Clear Channel Codes of Conduct

Because it’s Friday, here’s Insider’s light-hearted guide to the Lamar, OUTFRONT and Clear Channel Outdoor codes of business ethics and conduct.  You can find links to each code of conduct at the end of this article.  No, we didn’t make the quotes up.

The we are not WeWork clause (OUTFRONT)

“OUTFRONT does not extend credit to…any of its directors or executive officers…”

“As a rule of thumb, you should not give or receive gifts that are excessive…gifts with a value greater than $250 are excessive.”

“We do not pay bribes, kickbacks or facilitation payments, at any time for any reason…The only possible exception is if a potentially improper payment is necessary to protect an individual’s health or safety.”

A good night’s sleep Is company policy (OUTFRONT)

“Never work while impaired by, for example, a lack of sleep, alcohol or any drugs – including prescription or over-the-counter medication.”

Or not (Clear Channel Outdoor)

“…we may never work while under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs or misused prescription or over-the-counter-medications.”

You need to bring your laptop to all the GO2020 panels, meals and after-parties (Clear Channel Outdoor)

“When traveling keep your devices (laptops, personal devices, phones, tables, etc)…with you at all times.”

I guess we’re not Lamar (Clear Channel Outdoor)

“No family member should be placed in a position where he or she has direct reporting or decision-making authority over another family member…”

No personal shopping on your work computer (Lamar)

“Employees officers and directors should use the Company’s assets and services solely for legitimate business purposes…”

OK, Insider had some fun.  But humor aside, your out of home business business needs a code of  conduct stating what it expects from employees (fair-dealing, honesty, confidentiality) and what it won’t tolerate (harassment, self-dealing, improper use of corporate assets).  The code of conduct should also explain how to report concerns and where to go for advice.  You can find each company’s code of business ethics below.
