The Milford Mirror reports that attorney Winthrop Smith has proposed a regulation change to the Milford Planning and zoning board on behalf of Independent Outdoor to permit electronic billboards along I-95. The change was proposed at the Board’s August 16 meeting. The proposal has been submitted to the city attorney, local towns, the department of Energy and Environmental Protection, the greater Ridgeport Regional Planning Agency and the South Central Regional Council of Governments.
Insider’s take: Three outside towns and three agencies weigh in on a simple rule change? Seems like regulatory overkill. You’ve got to assume that someone at that laundry list of agencies will raise objections. Hope that Independent is building support with the local business community and chamber of commerce.
