Insider learned this week that Juggernaut Billboards partner, Rick Rendon passed away suddenly on September 20th. Rick began his career in OOH in 1982 and had a successful career in both the U.S. and Latin America.
Max Drachman od Drachman M&A Co. knew Rick well and we reprint his LinkedIn post from yesterday with his permission.
A Statement by Drachman M&A Co. Founder & CEO Max Drachman on the passing of Rick Rendon:
Today’s announcement was bittersweet. Rick Rendon of Juggernaut Billboards introduced me to the amazing world of out-of-home. He spoke often and with real fondness about the history of our business and many of the trailblazers he worked closely with as the industry took shape.
People who knew Rick knew that he could tell a story better than most. He was a hero among outdoor sales reps, climbing the ranks of several major OOH companies including Whiteco and Outdoor Systems/CBS before joining another industry vet, Chip Tolleson, in launching Juggernaut Billboards.
Rick was affectionally known as “Mr. 4:00 am” by his friends for his work ethic and ability to hit the day head-on regardless of what he had in front of him. Rick touched every corner of the business and I know he has friends across the country reading this announcement, all of whom are likely thinking of great times with Rick with a smile on their face. Rick loved all things Outdoor, the west, and above all his daughter, Rachel.
