IBO Announces Leadership Strategy Direction

Kansas City Spring Conference

In a surprising move to most attendees, IBO is ramping up their leadership team in response to the industry need to address the rapid technological changes and requests from the buying community following the impacts of COVID and the reactions to the flow of advertising following valued and believable impressions.

“I’ve been energized by the fact that so many of our members have taken interest in the real need for change and wanting to build our organization, footprint of over 100,000 displays, and willingness to embrace technology to assist in our part of growing the OOH market in the US, even alongside Big three,” said Chris Cowlbeck, General Manager of IBOUSA.  “We’ve created an independent OOH Brain Trust now known as the IBO Strategic Leadership Council (SLC), that will assist in helping me navigate the tricky waters of expansion, innovation and development needed to play our part in bringing inventory in rural and suburban areas nationwide to the agencies and platforms.”

Becky Smith, Enterprise Manager, IBOUSA

“I’m also announcing that effective immediately, that the SLC has endorsed the need for me to relinquish the day-to-day organizational details to a lady that not only is a marvelous educator, brilliant mind and steely determination, but also has transitioned from being a leading chemistry teacher to being able to run an outdoor media plant from head to toe as well as how to increase revenues, our top priority for our members.  Becky Smith’s new role as Enterprise Manager encompasses oversight of all the various IBO entities operations and now frees me up to do what I love to do best.  My new role was coined by Tony Mariani of DDI Media, to become the Chief Visionary Officer, and while I’m humbled by these words, it sets me in motion to market to the agencies and promote our footprint along with the benefits we can deliver for them.  Call me what you wish but I’ll keep doing what I’ve been doing only harder and faster now.”

“I’m excited to be part of our expanding organization and want to lead our growth by assisting every size independent media company out there.” said Smith.  “We need to get us all streamlined so that the buyers can allocate more money to the industry.  We will get our fair share and I am dedicating my career to the ideals of our IBO Speedway model to bring value to everyone we touch, in whatever way they need it.”
