Hurricane Matthew generated winds of 70-107 miles an hour as it pushed along the Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina coasts earlier this week.   Insider has received the following reports about Hurricane Matthew:

  • The west coast of Florida was spared.  We have not had damage from the Georgia border south into Tampa.”  Gary Barbosa, Champion Outdoor, Florida
  • “Our convention in Savannah was cut short. Up and down the coast OAAG members sustained considerable damage.   At this time we count more than 20 structures that endured some kind of damage.”  Conner Poe, Georgia Outdoor Advertising Association.
  • “I had a couple faces that blew out nothing major…All the signs I have built had no issues, mainly signs I have purchased over the past few years…We are working to fix everything this week.”  Grey Vick, Grey Outdoor, North and South Carolina.
  • “No damage…Lots of guys in Eastern North Carolina got flooded.”  Jim Troy, Troy Outdoor, Central North Carolina and Virginia.
  • “Luckily no damage…Our vinyls are actually still good as well.”  Kelly Shaw, Railroad Outdoor, Atlanta, Georgia.
  • “I just saw a Lamar I-beam poster double stack near historic district laying on the ground.  I’ve seen about 10 hurricane frames blown out.” Mike Fitzgerald, Railroad Outdoor, Savannah, Georgia.
