Hurricane Laura made landfall on parts of Texas and Louisiana. Looks like Lamar punched holes in a bunch of vinyl minimize damage to the structures. Insider hears that modern vinyl has gotten so strong that it bends steel before it rips.
Never noticed this before in hurricane prep…
Tons of the billboards around #Beaumont have been cut up — to keep from being mowed down by 110 MPH wind? Seems like it. #laura #abc13 pic.twitter.com/Pjrr3lIXE1

Here is one of the images enlarged to better see the cuts in the board.
A picture of a billboard near Lake Charles Louisiana which was knocked down by the storm.
And a drive by. You can see that the vinyl blew away but the hurricane frames are still there.
I’m seeing a lot of battered billboards as we drive (I’m not driving) towards Orange from Beaumont. The winds were very strong overnight! #HurricaneLaura https://t.co/lwqgngwwCu pic.twitter.com/fWedi2wYh3

Insider heard this from Leonard Busby, CEO of the Busby Companies with structures in Louisiana and Mississippi.
We have some damages on static boards in Monroe, LA but not the Digitals. Everyone is safe; which is the main thing. Thanks, for your prayers and or thinking about us.
