• Hollywood Billboard Stunt Backfires

Billboards can be an effective way to call attention to a product or TV show or radio show or podcast.  But stunts can backfire.

Hollywood Reporter writes that Henry King rented billboards on Cahuenga Boulevard across from Universal Studios and on Venice Boulevard in Culver city to advertise his movie script called Van’s Best Friend.

King got noticed but not in the way he expected.  TV writer and producer Brian Scully read the script and eviscerated King on Twitter.

There’s a reddit thread following the controversy.

The moral of the story: If you run a billboard stunt to advertise a product the product had better be good.
