Genlogs Uses Billboard Sensors to Stop Trucking Theft

Genlogs rents space on billboards for privacy-enabled sensors to measure the flow of commercial trucks in the US.  Blake Balch, Genlog’s Chief of Partnerships shares a success story:

Genlogs sensors mounted on a billboard

I wanted to share a really cool story that never would have happened if you did not run that first article that got picked up by Trailhead Media….Within just a few days of our sensors going on Trailhead’s signs, we were able to investigate a fraudulent truck carrier that has been stealing expensive loads of copper in the southeast. It all started on Wednesday April 10th when a freight broker emailed us asking for help investigating a truck that they suspected was posing as a legitimate carrier to steal the loads.

We searched our data and found multiple trucks in multiple states — including a few in Georgia observed from Trailhead’s signs. We provided the evidence, and the legitimate carrier confirmed that one of the trucks — a light blue Peterbilt — was not his truck. The fraudster was an imposter stealing freight, which was harming the legitimate trucker’s reputation and ruining his livelihood, not to mention stealing from the shipper and harming the freight broker’s reputation as well.

We provided the information to local Law Enforcement so they can take action to remove this thief from the road. We later heard from another major freight broker that they had experienced problems with the same fraudster, but had been unable to track his patterns/locations in order to get Law Enforcement to take action.

In short, the partnership between GenLogs and Trailhead is already resulting in making America safer and stronger — while still maintaining 100% privacy compliance by filtering out all private vehicle data.

You are more than welcome to share this great story with your readership, as we are continuing to add partners to deploy the privacy-compliant sensors on other billboards to make America safer and stronger.

THANK YOU for all you’ve done for us!!
