Access WDUN reports that Hall County Georgia and Gainesville Georgia are considering amended billboard regulations.    Key provisions include:

• Update illumination standards.

• A provision which requires 3 square feet of existing billboard area to be removed for every square foot of space which is converted to a digital billboard.

• No new billboard locations in Gainesville.

Insider’s take: The conversion plan appears reasonable.   Takedown ratios of 2:1 to 4:1 seem to be the norm for most digital sign conversion regulations.
