Fredrickson Outdoor advertising operates a billboard plant with 10 faces in Northfield, Minnesota.  The company was formed in 2005 and is owned by Duane Fredrickson.  Insider talked with Fredrickson about his company.

What’s new at Fredrickson over the past year?

Fredrickson Outdoor has changed in the past few years. At his point, FOA is more of a development wing of the much larger Circle City Outdoor Minnesota. Our primary focus is on construction and installation of the new structures for CCOM. We have a fully furnished shop, so we have the capabilities to design, fabricate and install the new steel structures as required. We also have dump trucks and a digger derrick truck for building access roads and digging the footing. The crane truck is used whenever we need to install another structure and modify an existing structure with walkways or digital faces. We also have a forestry mower for clearing sites. Our excavator comes handy for everything from pulling stuck machinery out to digging the footing. Fredrickson Outdoor also does all of the maintenance required for the CCOM. We have a tractor mounted mower that makes the rounds to the different sites a couple of times per year to keep weeds and brush from piling up.

What are some of your objectives for the coming year?

The current locations that Fredrickson Outdoor have don’t really take much of my time. We’ve had pretty much the same advertisers for years. They pay like clockwork and things just keep rolling.

My son Eric does most of the changing out of new displays. He’s a sharp young man. He welds. paints and designs the new structures.  My youngest daughter Kathryn is now learning the trade. She has been helping me with difficult installs and picks thinks up very quickly. My middle daughter Ellie finds her way out to the fab shop from time to time. She is an excellent fabricator, (just ask her).
