A temporary ban on billboard construction was approved in Eupora, Mississippi while legislation regulating the signs is drafted.
The Webster Progress-Times reports that two billboards have been erected on Veterans Memorial Boulevard (Highway 9) inside the city limits. At an April 4th Board of Alderman meeting, it was noted that since the city has no ordinance prohibiting billboards, building permits were issued for new boards.
At the mayor’s suggestion , the board voted unanimously to put a moratorium of 120 days on the issuance of building permits for billboards providing the city a chance to put an ordinance together.
